Nothing is better than getting to share your passion, I was invited to go on my favorite podcast and talk about bears! So blessed to have the opportunity to share just how much we need hunters in Maine.
The population is booming and we need to balance it out the best way possible – more hunters! The bears are hungry this year, bait set started July 30 and bears are on the cameras within an HOUR of set! Be sure to follow my Facebook page for trail camera pics and hunt updates.
We have a couple spots left this year for the ladies but if you can't make it keep us in mind for next year! We'd love to have you!
Take a listen and make sure to check out HuntFishTravel.net and PleasantRiverGuides.com

New property for Pleasant River Guides!
Bear season flew by far too fast! I don't even know how to begin to sum up how great it was during those two weeks of ladies camp. It's like a blur of camouflage, incredible food, laughing till my face hurt, and spending time with old and new friends. Already looking forward to next year when we will have 3 weeks full of ladies hunting bear.
Week one everyone saw bear, 4 of us harvested bear. So incredible proud of Cindy and Jennifer for getting their first bears! Cindy shot her bear right through the heart! You could see the perfect X of the broadhead. Everyone from week one is coming back next year.
Week 2 Lauren shot a bear and Katy passed on a small bear. Tena and Louwanna conquered their fears of sitting alone in the bear woods for the first time and are coming back next year, in fact all of week two is coming back!
My bear was my first bow bear and while I made a bad shot, we gave all our effort to track her down and recover her. Many lessons learned including how incredibly tough these animals are, no matter the size. She was very skinny and probably wouldn't have made it through the the winter.
I want to thank LockDown Outdoors for the koozies for the ladies goody bags and Boarmasters for the great products that drew the bears straight in!
Amy's bear had a massive head and an incredible secret revealed at the taxidermist! Stay tuned for that story!
Hopefully you can join me and the ladies next season in bear camp at Pleasant River Guide Service!
